Brad Pitt is one of Hollywood’s sexiest men. A successful actor and producer, Brad Pitt also dedicates his free time to human rights organizations. Since 2005, he has been supporting an organization that combats AIDS and poverty in the developing world. In 2006, Pitt and his wife, Angelina Jolie, established an organization to aid humanitarian causes around the world.
Born in Oklahoma, Pitt grew up in Missouri. At a very young age he decided to leave and try his luck in Hollywood. Like a lot of other dreamers, Pitt was waiting for his time to shine, and in the meantime worked as a limousine driver and in a restaurant dressed as a chicken.
His acting career began with guest performances in television series. After landing a small part in the show Dallas, Pitt then scored other roles in shows like Thirty Something, 21 Jump Street, among others. In 1991 he gained world recognition when he played a small role in the movie Thelma & Louise. His notable sex scene with Geena Davis transformed him into one of Hollywood’s sex symbols.
From that point on, Pitt rose to fame. Over the years he starred in a number of films including Interview with the Vampire (1994), Fight Club (1999), Ocean’s Eleven (2001). Brad Pitt won his first Golden Globe Award for his role in 12 Monkeys and was also nominated for an Academy Award for this particular role. Pitt’s second Academy Award nomination was for his performance in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
Brad Pitt’s own production company is called Plan B Entertainment. In 2007 this company produced the Oscar winner for The Departed, labeled the best motion picture.
His stunning looks were hard to ignore. In 1995 Empire magazine named Pitt as one of the 25 sexiest stars in film history. During the same year People magazine named him the Sexiest Man Alive. He received this title again in 2000. Pitt and George Clooney are the only two men to win this title twice. Forbes magazine included Pitt’s name three years in a row (2006 - 2008) in its 100 Most Powerful Celebrities list.
His sex appeal and natural beauty led Pitt to feature in a number of fashion campaigns. In 2005, Pitt, Uma Thurman and Johnny Depp were chosen for a Tag Heuter Luxury Watch ad campaign. In 2008 Brad Pitt took part in an ad campaign for Japanese denim giant, Edwin Jeans.
Pitt’s personal life was also published on every magazine and tabloid. His previous relationships with Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Aniston as well as his ongoing relationship with Angelina Jolie, were and still are at the heart of entertainment magazines all over the world. In 2005, Pitt and Jolie fell in love on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. This relationship became one of the most reported celebrity stories worldwide. The Brangelina couple have six children.
