Israel’s fashion elite flocked to the most exclusive event of the year which was held on the glamorous summer terrace of Fashion Bar Tel Aviv. The irresistible combination of the glamorous Fashion Bar, an Israeli summer’s evening next to the sea and beautiful models competing in an international modeling contest ensured that everyone who is anyone wanted to attend.
Ten models from all over Israel competed in this year’s competition for the chance to be crowned “Miss FTV Israel”. Before the show, they had their make up done by the professional team of Felix Stein and their hair was styled by stylists Leon and Mitch. They each had to model three outfits during the show; one outfit from FTV’s women’s wear collection, one item from Zeki’s swimwear collection and one evening dress from the Olga Fishman collection. The crowd was as impressed by the clothes as they were by the models! Fashion TV’s Olga Chepurko, who was coordinating the event, said that the caliber
of the models was the highest she had ever seen and that they had all been a pleasure to work with. “Spirits were high in the backstage area before the show” she told waiting reporters “and everybody involved in this year’s competition had a great time! Fashion Bar Tel Aviv helped to make this a real night to remember!”
The judging panel seemed to agree and they found it difficult to finally agree on a winner. The judging panel, which was headed by Fashion TV’s Vice President for North America and Israel, Mrs. Orna Gusinski, included Shay Avital of Elite Models Israel, famed make up artist Felix Stein, the Israeli performer “The Shadow”, Eddie Shtern of M Studio modeling, Dima Abez or Fashion Bar Tel Aviv, RTVI presenter Michael Rabinovich and Dmitry Zakon, Mor Gelbart and Ioash Ben-Eliezer of Heineken Israel. Before seeing the girls in action on the catwalk, various members of the jury headed backstage to talk
to the girls about their careers, motivations and dreams. 
“It helps to give a better overall opinion of a model” said Fashion TV’s Orna Gusinski “than if you just see her on the catwalk…you really get to know her personality and if she has the passion and the real desire to be a professional model”.
After deliberating and debating over the models they finally made a decision. In third place came Polina Shkatov who won a designer bag while second place was awarded to 
Vera Antoshenkova who won a trip to Eilat. But the model who impressed the jury the most and therefore came in first place and became the new Miss FTV Israel 2008 was Daria Michaliov. Daria won the title of Miss FTV Israel 2008, a contract with Elite Models Israel and also the much coveted Miss FTV Diamond – a beautiful diamond carved out of the finest Austrian crystal. Daria will also get to visit the Black Diamond, the stunning FTV super mega yacht in Europe and to participate in modeling shows for FTV. All of the models who took part were given beautiful FTV merchandise.
Once the show had ended, the organizers and models all got the chance to relax and enjoy the party! The crowd at the Fashion Bar was in high spirits after the show and danced well into the small hours of the morning! Everybody left the event exhausted but with a smile on their face and the words “I Love Fashion TV” on their lips, proving that Miss FTV is as popular in Israel as it is all over the world.
