Adele Rocks the Grammy Awards with six wins
Adele has taken the world by storm and nothing can hold her back. With six Grammy’s in her possession and gracing the cover of American Vogue next month, you can be sure, that besides the rumors, Adele is here to stay.
The 54th Annual Grammy Awards is one that Adele will never forget. The 23 years old British singer, nominated for six Grammy’s, ended the night with a huge smile on her face and six small, gilded gramophone statuettes.
Adele's second album, “21,” was a wild success, with over 17 million copies sold worldwide, and a few mentions in the Guinness Book Of World Records; including being one of the first artists to sell more than 3 million copies of an album in one year in the UK.
Adele took home the trophies for “Album Of The Year,” “Best Vocal Album,” “Record Of The Year,” “Song Of The Year,” “Best Short Form Music for ‘Rolling In The Deep’” and “Best Pop Solo Performance for ‘Someone Like You’”. These achievements have now tied her with Beyonce Knowels,both holding the title of “the most awards won by a female artist in one night.”

Apart from her winnings, Adele also took to the stage to perform one of her biggest hits, “Rolling In The Deep.” This was the first time Adele sang in public since healing from a vocal cord surgery that took place last November. This surgery had kept Adele from singing for the past couple of months and caused her to cancel her tour, which put a huge question mark over her musical career. However, Adele's stunning recovery on the Grammy Awards stage proved that she’s back, stronger than ever, and definitely not giving up on her inspiring music.

As a young girl, Adele attended the same performing-arts school as the late Amy Winehouse. Throughout their career, many tried to draw similarities between the two singers. Although Adele won prizes on the Grammy Awards stage, Winehouse's name was honored as one of the greatest loses to the music world. The gesture for the late singer is akin to the commemoration done for her by Jean Paul Gaultier. His most recent couture collection, was designed as a tribute to the musical diva.

Recently Adele's name made the headlines on account of a questionable remark made by fashion designer and head designer for Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, who came under heavy fire for calling Adele 'too fat' in an interview for a French newspaper.
