Beauty Secrets: Vivienne Westwood With Love
Calling out to all you creative makeup lovers! FashionTV have backstage access at one of the most fashion-forward shows of the Spring season as we find out just exactly what inspired queen of punk, Vivienne Westwood’s, heart-shaped faces!
Always a fan of painting the ladies faces, Vivienne Westwood’s Gold Label show at Paris Fashion Week was no exception, as she unveiled her Spring 2013 collection, with a parade of heart-shaped cues painted on the models.
And the woman behind the look is makeup artist to fashion royalty, Val Garland. Garland has worked on almost every major ad campaign you can think of, numerous Vogue covers, and with every star from Lady Gaga to Keira Knightley, Kate Moss, Gwyneth Paltrow, and many more.
So, we asked her, what was the inspiration behind the models looks for Spring 2013: “The makeup is all about urban tribalism, mix that up with a little bit of Voodoo punk Marie Antoinette [and voila!]. It’s all about a myriad of flesh-toned heart-shaped faces.”
Some were white, some were brown, some were perfectly formed, and others eccentrically lopsided -- as seen on opening model Lida Fox’s cherubic face.
“Vivienne Westwood is one of the most fun shows to do during fashion week,” says Fox. “I love that she does things for the environment like these Climate Revolution T-shirts and that everything’s for a really good cause.”
Meanwhile, muse to the designer and daughter of Rolling Stones front-man, Georgia May Jagger, was at the show and dressed regally in Westwood for the unveiling of her latest collection.
Is this look the perfect way to tell your man you love them on Valentines Day?
