It’s not like she’s more beautiful or more successful than the Brazilian bombshell, but according to Forbes magazine, Beyonce and Jay-Z beat Gisele and Tom Brady for the number one spot as the highest-paid celebrity couple of 2012.

While Gisele Bundchen is still the highest paid model in the whole world, according to Forbes magazine, when you combine her earnings with her husband, Tom Brady, the picture changes a bit. The couple earned “only”  $72 million last year, and ranked second after pop star Beyonce and husband rapper Jay-Z. The new supercouple earned 78 million Dollars.

Beyonce and Jay-Z’s achievement is even bigger if you consider the fact that during the past year Beyonce gave birth to the couple’s first daughter, Blue Ivy. The fact that Beyonce focused on motherhood didn’t interfere with her royalties from past hits, benefits from endorsement deals and earnings from her special clothing line – House of Dereon. All those incomes estimated to add up to $40 million. At the same time, her husband was touring the world on his sold out “Watch the Throne” tour (along with fellow rapper, Kanye West). Jay-Z’s earnings are estimated to be $38 million.

Third place on Forbes’ list belongs to David and Victoria Beckham. The couple managed to jump up a place from last year, and earned $54 million ($9 million more than last year). The majority of the earnings come from David’s endorsement deals and his 2 year contract with the L.A Galaxy soccer team. Victoria also contributes to the family income, thanks to her successful fashion collection and designer career.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are in fourth place, with earnings of 45 million dollars, and the fifth place belongs to Hollywood star Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith. The Smiths have earned $40 million last year.

What will the year to come bring? Will the Olympic ad campaigns from David Beckham help him improve his ranking in the next year? Will Beyonce and Jay-Z realize they need to spend just a little more time with Blue Ivy? Will Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady fight for their number one spot back? We’ll just have to wait and see.
