Cara Delevingne- The official face of Burberry | FashionTV's Model of the Week
Raised next to Buckingham Palace, she’s become known for her dark eyebrows and bright eyes. A big fan of Angelina Jolie, she has been the official face of Burberry for more than 2 seasons. Cara Delevingne is our Model of the Week.
Cara Delevingne began her modeling career at the age of 17. Her natural blond hair, amazing blue eyes and dark eyebrows caught the attention of fashion designers and photographers, earning her easy passage to the fashion industry’s extravagant runways. Delevingne is the youngest of three sisters, having been raised near Buckingham Palace in central London. As one of the busiest British models nowadays, she cites Jourdan Dunn (another British success story) and Angelina Jolie as her role models.
Rocking the Runway
Cara Delevingne's distinct looks and British heritage have made her one of the England’s most interesting models. She debuted on the catwalks when she walked for Clements Ribeiro during Spring 2012 London Fashion Week. Shortly after, she took part in the pre-fall Burberry show in New York. This collaboration was a turning point for Delevingne and soon after, she was officially announced as the newest face of the legendary fashion house.
Delevingne is building her way to the top of the modelling world step-by-step. During the Spring 2012 season, she walked almost exclusively for Burberry and Burberry Prorsum. The next season, she walked for great designers, such as Kenzo, Chanel, Stella McCartney, Cacharel, Sonia Rykiel, DKNY, Dolce & Gabbana and more.
From 2011 and into 2012, Cara Delevingne was photographed for a few of the most prestigious fashion magazines’ covers and editorials. She appeared in Vogue, Numero and Harper's Bazaar's editorials sections as well as on the covers of British Vogue, S Moda and Jalouse Delevingne.
In addition to runways and editorials, Delevingne has been in ad campaigns mostly for Burberry. Her first ad campaign for the British label was during Spring 2011, when she posed for Mario Testino. Delevingne was also chosen to lead the brand's ad campaigns for Fall 2011 and Spring 2012, and she was photographed by Testino for both campaigns.
In addition to Burberry, Delevingne has also been shot in campaigns for H&M Authentic Collection (2011) and for Dominic Jones Jewellery (2012).
Cara Delevingne’s has future dreams of becoming an actress and owning an independent music label. We believe fulfilling those dreams is possible in the future, but at the moment her place is on the best catwalks the fashion world has to offer. The contrast between her bright eyes and dark eyebrows as well as her noble walking on the runway make us want to see more and more from this British beauty. We bet fashion designers also share the same feelings.
