Chanel, Valentino, & McQueen Show At Paris Fashion Week!
Today marks the penultimate day of Paris Fashion Week and the whole of the Fall 2013-14 season, as Paris prepares to wrap up the month of fashion madness with grace and grandeur. And true to Parisian form, they've saved the best ‘til last! Are you ready?
Today we wake up to an early morning call, put on our chicest attire, and head to the illustrious Grand Palais to take our seats for the one and only Chanel show. And with gargantuan wind turbines lining the length of the catwalk at the Spring 2013 show and an enchanted forest built for the Haute Couture offerings, we wait to see what bright ideas Karl Lagerfeld has up his sleeve for Fall!
We hope to see A-listers like Tilda Swinton, the new face of Chanel Metiers d'Art Paris-Edimbourg collection, on the front row, and perhaps Keira Knightley will make an appearance too... after all, she is Coco Mademoiselle fragrance girl these days! Regular Chanel front row- ers include the likes of Diane Kruger, Jennifer Lopez, Alexa Chung, and more. Stay tuned with FashionTV for all the catwalk, front-row, and backstage scoop first!
Hakaan Is Back!
Last season, London-based Turkish designer, Hakaan, was forced to cancel his show after his entire Spring 2013 collection went missing on transit from London to Paris! This season, Hakaan will resume his usual spot on the penultimate day of PFW and fingers crossed that all runs smoothly for the master of “modern minimalism!”
The afternoon’s offerings will see Valentino present his much anticipated Fall 2013-14 collection, and the team have already set the mood at the Paris headquarters, lining the entrance hall with dozens of red roses for the occasion. Could this be a sign of things to come? The show kicks-off at 14:30 CMT.
And then, off to the Opera Comique we go... for a show ever-shrouded in excitement and performance, yes, you guessed it -- it’s Alexander McQueen! While creative director, Sarah Burton, may be on maternity leave we have no doubt that today’s show will be full of McQueen power-heroines and feminine tailoring that we all so know and love from the British fashion house.
The day will end with an exclusive show from Hermès that presented a luxe-traveller collection for last Fall, with ponchos, fedoras, and gently draped dresses hitting the catwalk. We wonder if fourth time’s a charm for designer Christophe Lemaire this Fall 2013-14?
