Daria Werbowy – A Timeless Beauty
On the February 2012 cover of the elite Vogue Paris, the stunning super model Daria Werbowy wore a black and purple Prada swimsuit. Exactly two years ago one could easily point out this beauty queen on the cover of Vogue in a white Prada swimsuit.
Vogue just can’t get enough of Daria! A few years ago, Vogue named Daria one of the top 30 models of 2000. The most recent issue showcases Daria in a sexier limelight and celebrates ten years of her world-renowned modeling career.
So far this year, Daria has only been on Vogue’s cover but let’s not forget she featured on a total of 66 fashion pages within that issue! For this particular photo shoot, the editors decided to push the fashion production further with Daria’s beauty and sex appeal and it worked. Each page exhibits the 28-year-old model in a different look and style.
The Face of Prada
Daria was born in Poland and moved with her parents to Canada when she was three years old. As a young girl she attended a visual arts school, but at the age of 14 her plans changed when she met her friend’s mother who was head of a modeling agency in Toronto. Though she won in a local beauty contest, Daria’s modeling career didn’t launch immediately.
For a few years she participated only in minor fashion productions and considered to go back to her original plan to study visual arts. But her modeling career slowly began to take off only after an agent decided to take her seriously. Soon after top fashion designers fell in love with the fresh natural beauty and Daria soon found herself well on her way to becoming the next top model.
Daria’s first season as an international model was enough for Prada to make her their new face. Daria also featured for Italian Vogue, W Magazine among other notable fashion publications. The late iconic fashion photographer, Helmut Newton, took one of her memorable photo shoots in 2004. During the same year, photographer Steven Meisel booked Daria for Vogue Italy and for a Prada advertising campaign.
Luxury, Nude and Money
Throughout her career Daria modeled for top brands like Yves Saint Laurent, Prada, Roberto Cavalli, Gucci, Versace, Louis Vuitton among others. In 2004 she became the face of French brand Lancome. Rumor has it she got approximately one million dollars for every contract year. Now seven years later Daria is still the official and most recognizable representative of the luxurious brand.
One of her more unique projects was the 2011 issue of the famous Pirelli Calendar. In that calendar Daria had some breathtaking nude shots when she posed as Artemis – the Greek goddess of hunting – and Penthesilea – the Amazonian Queen.

While new and young models come and go Daria’s unique beauty never fades. After more than 10 years at the top of the fashion modeling world, top designers and brands still see her as one of the most desirable faces for their campaigns. She was even placed number six on Forbes Magazine's World's Top Earning Models for 2011 with $4.5 million.
From being an anonymous young girl with no desire to enter the fashion world to becoming one of the world's most familiar faces, Daria eventually got on top of the fashion world.
