Don’t Call Me Plus-Size! Robyn Lawley | FashionTV’s Model Of The Week

Posted on 1st November 2013 | Model of the Week

She’s gorgeous, curvy, and all woman! Meet FashionTV’s Model of the Week: The inspiring Aussie with a hot body, Miss Robyn Lawley.

Robyn Lawley has modeled for designers such as Ralph Lauren, covered magazines such as Vogue Italia, and featured as a GQ sex symbol. But recently, the Size 12 model hit the news for lashing out against the “online thinspiration” goal amongst young women.

The Australian model, from Sydney, was the first “plus-size” model to be shot for Australian Vogue and GQ Australia, what’s more she has her very own self-titled swimwear line, which she doesn’t want to be branded as “plus-sized.”

“This whole ‘plus-sized’ term has really had a negative effect on women,” Lawley said in a recent interview. “It’s okay in the fashion world referring to us booking models, but in the regular world I shouldn’t be called a ‘plus-size’ at all.” And we couldn’t agree more... you only need to check out the scorching Aussie behind-the-scenes in her swimwear shoot below!

Robyn has been modelling for over 5 years and hit up New York with all her Australian model experience fastened tightly under her belt. She is now accustomed to the catwalks of New York, Milan, and Paris; and is one of the world’s most sought after full-figured models.

“Beauty comes in all shapes and all sizes,” said Robyn speaking to model.com. She continues: “It always has and it always will.”
