Dutch model Doutzen Kroes was born and raised in a small village in the Netherlands. Her biggest aspiration was to become a professional speed skater.

When the blonde “tomboy” got a little older, she sent photos of herself to a modeling agency in Holland. The scouters immediately knew – this stunning young woman was going to rock the fashion industry.

Rocking the Runway

When Kroes moved from Holland to New York at the age of eighteen, she wasn't familiar with the “Victoria's Secret” brand. Nevertheless, soon after she landed in the big apple, Kroes started to collaborate with the famous lingerie label.

In 2005, Doutzen Kroes walked the Victoria's Secret annual show for the first time. One year later she presented amazing undergarments during the fashionable show. The Dutch bombshell also took part in the VS annual show in 2008, 2009 and in 2011. In 2008 Kroes was officially announced as a Victoria's Secret Angel.

Throughout her modeling career, Kroes has collaborated with few other top designers and brands. In 2006, she walked the Spring 2007 Dolce & Gabbana fashion show. In 2007, she closed the Fall Isaac Mizrahi show during New York Fashion Week and also appeared in the Christian Dior Couture fashion show in Paris.

Cover Girl

Doutzen Kroes began her international modeling career in 2003. One year later she already landed her first fashion magazine cover. It was the French Elle. Ever since that cover, Kroes graces on countless magazines.

In 2005, Steven Meisel photographed her for the cover of Italian Vogue. A few months later, Kroes was on the cover of Numero magazine. In 2006, the Dutch model stunned on her second Numero cover.

French Vogue and Elle put Kroes on their covers during 2007. The same year, Steven Meisel photographed her for the cover of Vogue. Then she was announced as one of the world's next supermodels.

During the following years Kroes stunned on many other fashion magazine covers. Japanese Numéro, Spanish, Korean, Russian and German Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and Elle are just a few of the magazines who contributed to Kroes' stardom.

Ad Star

Doutzen Kroes’ amazing figure and glamorous smile made her the the perfect choice for fashion catalogs and ad campaigns. In 2005 she received her first campaign. Then she posed for photographer Steven Meisel along with Snejana Onopka during an ad campaign for Dolce & Gabbana. The same year, she became the spokesmodel for Calvin Klein Eternity fragrance.

In 2006 Italian luxury fashion house, Valentino, announced Kroes as the face of the brand. She also signed a 3 years contract with the cosmetics company L'Oreal Paris and starred on an ad campaign for Gucci.

Kroes' continued to receive desirable contracts in the following years. In 2007, she became the face of Gianfranco Ferre and Calvin Klein. In 2009, Kroes posed for Patrick Demarchelier during a photoshoot for the iconic Pirelli Calendar. She was featured as the face of Blumarine and looked fabulous on ad campaigns for Versace, Tommy Hilfiger and many others.

Fashion Forward

Doutzen Kroes is one of the most stunning models that was brought to us from the Netherlands. Her appearances on and off stage are almost unforgettable.
