Elite Fashion and Gender Games - Paris Men fashion week

Posted on 26th June 2012 | Paris Men Spring 2013

The Euro soccer games are almost over and now is the perfect time to forget the sexy guys on the field and focus in on some REAL Parisian men. Paris Men’s Fashion Week is just around the corner which will include unforgettable designers such as Viktor & Rolf, Dior, Lanvin, Kenzo and much more.

Paris Men’s Fashion Week is always full of surprises. Male models performing as women, or vice-versa, colorful collections and diverse themes make this event a fashion extravaganza.

This season, one of France’s most beloved designer will not be presenting. The one and only Jean Paul Gaultier has decided to skip Paris Men’s Fashion Week. According to WWD, the “enfant terrible” will present a co-ed runway show during the upcoming Paris Couture Fashion Week, just like he once did with his Fall 2011 collection.

Though a Fashion Week without Gaultier will be unusual, this will still be the greatest European fashion event du jour. All of the French elite menswear designers are going to present their most recent collections. World known names like Dior and Lanvin are going to rock the runways with new visions for next Summer.

John Galliano

Another “bad boy” designer who will present a collection during Paris Men’s Fashion Week is the talented John Galliano. No matter what you think of his personal opinions, you must admit, this designer has one of the most brilliant and innovative voices. In his previous Spring collection, Galliano created an homage to the 1974 David Hockney film "A Bigger Splash" and featured a 1960s London themed-collection. Military coats and Navajo knits fit in perfectly among the classic Galliano “men in underwear and small swimsuits”. It will definitely be interesting to see his current line on stage, don’t you think?

Viktor & Rolf

Viktor & Rolf shows have always been known for making a statement. As a part of their last Summer collection, the duo did everything in vintage style, from male models' flipped over hairdos to the patchwork denim and flares. Like almost every season, we believe Viktor & Rolf’s upcoming collection will bring lots of vivid colors to the runways of Paris.

Kenzo

Designer Antonio Marras brought a different angle to Paris Men’s Fashion Week last year. The Spring 2012 Kenzo collection was filled with Hawaiian prints and plenty of fuschia, electric blue, and bright yellow and green colors. Click the link below and see what’s hot and what’s not for this Summer. Soon you will get a clue about Marras’ plans for next Summer.
