Fairy Tale Come True: Louboutin Recreating Cinderella’s Glass Slipper For Summer

Posted on 1st May 2012 | Designers

There are moments in life when every girl wants to feel like a princess. Christian Louboutin, the French shoe guru, is helping every girl relive that moment by recreating a glass shoe inspired by the beautiful fairy tale where a poor maiden goes from rags to riches and heads to the ball with proper princess shoes on her feet.

Christian Louboutin designs shoes that women dream about all over the world.  His statement designs and familiar trademarks (red sole, anyone?) already make girls feel more luxe than they could ever imagine.  This summer, the French designer is putting a magical spin on his current collection and fulfilling every girl’s wish to feel like Cinderella even if they can’t get the prince or go to the ball.

In honor of Walt Disney's Cinderella appearing on BluRay and DVD, the popular shoe designer has decided to create his own version of the glass slippers. Knowing Louboutin's designs, it won't be hard to guess that his interpretation for the most famous footwear will include bright and  bold soles (maybe in red?)

Though the new Cinderella version won’t be out until Fall, Louboutin's magical shoes will be released for a limited time this summer.

"I have been so lucky to have crossed paths with Cinderella, an icon who is so emblematic to the shoe world as well as the dream world”, said Louboutin to WWD.

Christian Louboutin isn’t the first fashion designer that has been inspired by fairy tales from the Brothers Grimm. A new Hollywood interpretation of the tale “Snow White and the Huntsman” was recently released and its main character is setting new international trends. Beauty kits, fashion collections and even new costumes are gaining more and more popularity nowadays.

Louis Vuitton's creative director – Marc Jacobs – was also inspired by fairy tales while creating his Spring 2012 collection. Jacobs described the collection as “spring-like and magical”. Click here and watch the Louis Vuitton fashion show and see for yourselves.

Fairy tales have always been a part of our world.  This summer, fashionistas, brides, Cinderellas and Louboutin lovers alike will get to have their feet pampered like royalty. If you have ever wanted to feel like a princess, you’ll soon get the chance to slip into these fashionable glass shoes.  Next up, Prince Charming...
