Here’s To New Beginnings

It was certainly a season of new beginnings this fashion season, with the controversial Hedi Slimane’s return for the renamed fashion house Saint Laurent and Raf Simons’ Dior ready-to-wear debut.

But in the funny old world of fashion fate, it was Simons’ show not Slimane’s new Saint Laurent Paris, that was THE big story of Paris Fashion Week. Tailored black suits and colored scarves beautified by stunning jewel-encrusted eye makeup at Dior, adding a feminine touch to the menswear-inspired collection. A trend that will be sure to hit your Spring wardrobe! And FashionTV was there before the show even started! “Sea, Sun, & Love”

Over to Milan where “sea, sun, & love” was the message from Dolce & Gabbana for Spring 2013. And sitting on the front row you could almost smell the Sicilian streetlife, as models hit the catwalk wearing dresses printed with puppets, souvenir scarves, kitschy figurine earrings, and show stopping wicker frames that were created into voluminous silhouettes. A hot trend sure to bring the Sicilian out in you!
