Into The Wild With Ariel Meredith | FashionTV’s Model Of The Week
She’s an exotic mermaid after our own heart, has featured in the epic Sports Illustrated Body Paint Swimsuit Issue, and was once rejected by a model agency for the size of her chest! Meet FashionTV’s Model of the Week, wild card Ariel Meredith.
Swimsuit model Ariel Meredith is a humble Southern beauty from Louisiana. She first caught the modelling world’s eye at the age of 14, but held off until her high school years were over to pursue her career ambitions.
Having accepted some part-time modelling as a teenager, Meredith appeared in Seventeen, Teen Cosmopolitan, Cosmopolitan, and Teen magazines as a youngster. And in 2002, she appeared on the MTV show, “Fashionably Loud.”
The exotic brunette started modeling regularly in 2005, when one of her early modeling agencies suggested that she have breast reduction surgery to succeed. Thankfully she refused, was dropped by the agency, and has gone on to become one of the world’s most appreciated swimwear and high fashion models: A massive feat for the “small town country girl.”
Today, Meredith can boast having worked with the world’s most renowned fashion photographers including, Mario Testino, and was labeled a “Rising Star” after booking a spot in Vera Wang’s Spring Collection opening the show for her very first catwalk appearance in September 2008. She has since gone on to walk at over 20 top designer shows including Louis Vuitton, Elie Saab, and D&G.
But unless you didn’t know, Meredith’s claim to fame is her Sports Illustrated swimsuit shoots, which she has appeared in for the 2009, 2012, and 2013 issues. Our personal favorite is the 2013 recreation of a ’90s SI cover shoot... but this time, the models (Meredith and Nina Agdal) are naked and painted in their leopard-print bikinis! It’s hotter than hot.
Away from Meredith’s swimsuit success, her exquisite looks and drop-dead gorgeous body have helped to land her advertising campaigns and editorials with the likes of Victoria’s Secret, J.Crew, H&M, Levi’s, and many more. She has also featured on the cover of British culture magazine, Phoenix, and is a regular attendee at all the A-list red carpet events.
