There might be snow still on the ground in many parts of the world, but that doesn’t mean the darling buds aren’t still blooming in others. This season, designers looked to the outdoors for inspiration and a romantic revival.
Flower Power at Paul & Joe
City girl meets Hawaii is how Paul & Joe designer, Sophie Albou, describes her Spring 2013 collection at Paris Fashion Week. This was captured by the resortwear-inspired colors, fabrics, and silhouettes, which included everything from denim shirts to white jackets to floral, Bermuda shorts, and pants with cuffs. Oranges stood out as did the striped shirts with boxy metallic blazers, and nothing says casual chic like an elongated dress worn with flats. Luxe sportswear at its finest for Paul & Joe this season!
Sicilian Sunshine at Dolce & Gabbana
This season Italian design duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana traced back to their roots all the way to their homeland of Sicily. For the Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2013 collection, the duo decided to go cheery and bright, representing the island's bright street markets, exotic beaches, and traditional fashion. You can simply smell Sicily in the air when watching this!
Gorgeous Girlie Grunge at Marc by Marc Jacobs
Marc Jacobs decided to take a trip back in time to his 80s and 90s grunge design roots and remind the youth of what it means to be sexy, cool and have fun. His Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2013 line encompasses ethnic layering, check and striped prints, rag-tied heads and plenty of washed out denim. You can certainly see Jacobs' wacky and quirky side with all the geometric shapes, sexy midriffs, slouchy trunks, flouncy skirts, multi colored bangles and boxy tops, what a combination!
What Spring trend will you be sporting this season
