Rocking the Runway
Fall 2007 was Jourdan Dunn’s debut season. She walked for Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren and Salvatore Ferragamo in New York and in Milan. Later that year, Dunn took part in fashion shows for Alexander McQueen and Hermes.
Her popularity rose in 2008, when she became the first black model to walk for Prada in 13 years. The previous black model that walked for the Italian brand was supermodel Naomi Campbell. After that, Dunn became a runway fixture at countless fashion shows, including Vivienne Westwood, Givenchy, Gaultier, Dior, Victoria’s Secret, Giambattista Valli, Oscar de la Renta, Ives Saint Laurent, Pucci and others.

During Gaultier’s Spring 2009, Dunn stole headlines when she walked the runway while seven months pregnant. Awestruck, most members of the fashion industry couldn’t deny that mother-nature was on Dunn’s side. Two months later, in December 2009, Dunn gave birth to her first child – Riley.

Top designers, photographers and magazine editors have all pined for Dunn at one point or another. She appeared on the covers of Europe’s best fashion magazines, as well as those in the USA and the Far East. In 2009, Steven Meisel shot Dunn for the cover of Vogue, and shortly after, her shoot with Patrick Demarchelier landed her cover of Teen Vogue. Dunn also was featured on the covers of Elle, i-D, W, Dazed & Confused, and more big titles.

Ad Star
David Sims photographed the beautiful British model in 2007 for a Benetton campaign. One year later, Dunn posed for Emma Summerton in a Topshop campaign. In 2009 she was photographed in a CK by Calvin Klein campaign.
One of Jourdan Dunn’s most relevant campaigns was with the legendary British fashion house Burberry. In 2011, she became the face of the brand and later that year, she represented the brand’s fall ad campaign as well as its luxury cosmetics line.
Dunn also signed cosmetic contracts with Ives Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein and others.
