Stunning Julia Saner wants to change the way ordinary people think about models. On an interview she gave to NY Magazine, Saner admitted that being a model is not as easy as it seems. According to her, you must be more than just a pretty face in order to run a successful international career. You have to make the right choices, collaborate with professionals that can lift your career and pay attention to both your heart and your goals.
Saner was born and raised in Switzerland and in 2009 won the International Elite Model Look contest. In the same year, 16 year old Saner signed her first modeling contract. Less than one year later she already took her first steps as an international model.
Rocking The Runway
Julia Saner’s first appearance on the catwalk was during Gucci’s Fall 2011 show at Milan Fashion Week. That fashion week was very successful for the new model. Apart from Gucci, she also made some high-profile appearances on the catwalks of D&G, Roberto Cavalli, Moschino, Salvatore Ferragamo and more.
After such a great opening start, Saner’s star was raised and she got booked for few fashion shows in Paris. Paris Fashion Week was a great turning point for Saner. The young Swiss model walked for legendary fashion houses, such as Givenchy, Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton and Alexander McQueen. All those fashion shows were great, but for Saner the most distinguished show was Valentino’s. The rising model opened Valentino’s runway show, and that appearance led her to becoming one of the faces of the luxury fashion house.
Saner continued working with great fashion designers, and her modeling career continued to grow. Jean Paul Gaultier, Elie Saab, Dior, Chanel and of course, Valentino, counts Saner as one of their regular faces on the catwalks.
Cover Girl
On March 2011, Saner landed her first fashion magazine cover. Photographer Max Cardelli photographed her for the cover of the Italian Marie Claire magazine.
On September of that year she featured on the cover of PF magazine, and on November she was photographed for the Ukrainian Harper’s Bazaar.
Apart from covershoots, Saner was photographed for various of fashion magazine editorials. In 2011, Saner appeared on several fashion magazine editorials, such as Numero, Vogue, W and Harper's Bazaar.
Ad Star
Through ad campaigns, 2011 was a fruitful year for Julia Saner. Apart from her role as the face of Valentino, the Swiss beauty appeared in campaigns for Prabal Gurung, Karen Millen and Mulberry. Not bad for someone who started her modeling career less than 3 years ago, don't you think?
Fashion Forward
One of Julia Saner’s biggest dreams is to meet late fashion icon Marilyn Monroe face to face. Though this will be difficult at the moment, Saner gets the privilege of working with some of the world's great fashion designers and icons living today.
She enjoys traveling around the world and feels that she has a great opportunity to meet and work with interesting professionals in the fashion industry. Her success is a result of her hard work and huge motivation to become one of the world's next top models.
