Katie Holmes: The Talk of New York Fashion Week
Her New York Fashion Week debut is just a few days away, but Katie Holmes keeps upping her game in all things fashion, fame, and fabulous! FashionTV have done some digging to reveal all you need to know about the fashion newcomer.
For those out of the loop, here’s a quick recap. This fashion season, all eyes are on Katie Holmes, and no it’s not because of her recent split from ex-hubby Tom Cruise. Holmes and long-term friend and stylist Jeanne Yang, will be launching their new Spring/Summer collection for the first-ever time at New York Fashion Week, under their collaborative label Holmes & Yang.
The look? Demure, classic pieces that you can wear from day to night, casual to cocktail, work to weekend, all with the help of a quick change of shoes, accessories, or bag. Everything in the collection is silk-lined, Holmes revealed to Style.com, and she has been seen to be test driving a few pieces herself down the red carpet, around town, and even on her recent Elle cover shoot! Could THIS be the perfect new marriage for Katie Holmes? The word is out that Holmes is set to be the first ever face of makeup maven Bobbi Brown cosmetics. She is certainly no stranger to being a face of a brand, dazzling an H. Stern ad campaign, donning the girl-next-door look for Ann Taylor, representing all things foxy for Miu Miu, and making a series of short movies for John Frieda hair products. Being “the face” seems to be second nature to Holmes, and we think the BB/Holmes collab is quite the match made in heaven.
Since her divorce from Tom Cruise was finalized last month, Katie has been looking more vivacious and carefree than ever. Showing no signs of slowing down, Holmes quickly jumped back on the acting bandwagon, all guns blazing, making a guest appearance on celebrity designer series, “Project Runway: All Stars,” and will be returning to broadway to play in Theresa Rebeck’s new comedy, “Dead Accounts.” Holmes is also reported to be working on the Indie film “Molly,” which she has co-written and produced.
Between balancing looking after 6-year-old daughter Suri, fronting advertising campaigns, acting, and debuting Holmes & Yang at New York Fashion Week, reports last month show that business is booming too, with Barney’s stores nationwide seeing an upswing in sales of the star’s clothing line. One thing’s for sure, it’s all heating up for Holmes, and we are excited to see the styled-up star take New York Fashion Week by storm in just a few days time!
