Kick-start London Fashion Week Fall/ Winter 2012-2013
With New York Fashion Week swiftly behind us and the shows kick-starting in London, FashionTV highlights what makes the British edition of the worlds’ major Fashion Weeks so special.
McQ Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood Red Label, Burberry Prorsum, Matthew Williamson, Pringle of Scotland, Christopher Kane . . . Have you missed these quintessential British designers and brands?
Considered the more “edgy” of the fashion weeks, London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2012-2013 is bound to provide for many new trends, magnificent outfits and brilliant new designs for next winter.

Apart from the amazing fashion shows and revealing new seasonal trends, London Fashion Week is also recognized for its technological edge. London was the first to broadcast its shows live on the web during the Spring 2010 season. A year later, Burberry made history when it broadcast its runway show live in 3D. This season, nearly every fashion show will be aired live, and fans eager for behind- the- scenes glimpses can follow London Fashion Week’s popular Facebook fan page.
As far as trends are concerned: FashionTV noticed that maxi skirts and dresses were hot at House of Holland, Preen and Mulberry's runway shows. Moschino Cheap and Chic and Todd Lynn are two of the designers who included military motifs on their designs.
Among the collections presented so far, the presence of black, white and brown colors were heavily noted. Glimpses of red were could be seen in the collections of PPQ and Daks. John Rocha included pale greens and Nicole Farhi and Moschino Cheap & Chic presented beautiful yellow and pink items.

Coats are, naturally, very popular on the catwalks. While some designers went for the military look, others like Daks and John Rocha chose a more sophisticated path. Todd Lynn's collection included some magnificent asymmetric coats, which gave a fresh new fashion vision.
Alongside fashion collections, London Fashion Week also offers some great events. One of these was a presentation by designer Stella McCartney. During the presentation McCartney showed off pieces from her new Fall 2012 line. Top models and celebrities such as Rihanna, Kate Moss, Kanye West and Simon LeBon turned the evening into a paparazzi field day.
