London Fashion Week: The Countdown Is On!
If you didn’t already know, this Friday, the fashion week parade will already have moved on from New York and arrived in the British capital for the start of London Fashion Week.
And FashionTV will be there to bring you all the live catwalk, front-row, and backstage action from the shows!
Top Of The Mornin’ To Ya!
Although they may be bleary-eyed and in serious need of an extra large pre-shake; fashion editors, models, bloggers, photographers, and glitterati alike will have landed in London to see what the fashion capital has to offer for Fall 2013-14.
For five whole days, Somerset House and other grand venues will see a plethora of vibrancy, vitality, and va va voom from the selected designers and their shows.
So what can we expect from the “there are no rules” fashion week?
While it’s always tricky to pick out a definitive trend, last year we were enticed by military-inspired pieces to sportswear, leather pants to vivacious velvets, winter blooms and checks galore: as Fall 2012-13 embraced a mishmash of temptations. This year, we’re just going to have to wait and see!
Young designers like Bora Aksu, Felder Felder, PPQ, and sass & bide will take the reigns on Friday, with the weekend playing host to some of London’s most exciting new talents as well as the more established design elite.
On Saturday, the fashion pack will head to see A-lister favorites Sister by Sibling, John Rocha, and Julien Macdonald -- who is returning to the catwalk after two season’s absence (and we are totally excited after he released a sneak peek picture!). Later, House of Holland will present it’s ever-vibrant collection -- and usually sees friends like Alexa Chung, Kelly Osbourne, and Pixie Geldof cheering on Holland from the front-row!
While on Sunday, some of London’s true greats like Preen, Mulberry, and Temperley London will present their new collections for the Fall 2013-14 season. Plus the day will see fresh collections from the Vivienne Westwood Red Label, queen of prints Mary Katrantzou, prince of brights Jonathan Saunders, Matthew Williamson, and Paul Smith! This day is going to be a feast for the eyes, and we can expect some big trends to emerge.
Peter Pilotto, Christopher Kane, Burberry Prorsum, Tom Ford, and Topshop collaborator J.W. Anderson will be playing for the fashion stakes on the penultimate day, while lovely ladies Simone Rocha, and Anya Hindmarch will dazzle and entertain the crowds for a final day of fashion magic.
Will Cara Delevingne be making first face appearances on the LFW runways? Will Romeo Beckham be making at catwalk debut at Burberry Prorsum? And how will Manolo Blahniks designs be received for the fashion week theme?
Stay tuned with FashionTV for LIVE reports around the clock!
