Milan Men: Dolce & Gabbana Stay True To Their Roots & Versace Gets Outlandish!

Milan Fashion Week For Men Begins!

Posted on 12th January 2013 | Milan Men Fall 2013

Men’s Fashion Week in Milan marks the second round of shows presenting the Fall 2013 collections for men. With London Collection: Men’s safely out the way, we now turn our attention to the Italian stallions and their love for the perfectly handcrafted suit!

Today, Milan opens its doors to the fashion glitterati -- as editors, models, fashionistas, (and hopefully a spot of royalty) -- descend upon Italy’s most highly regarded fashion city to find out exactly what’s hot- and what not- for Fall 2013.

We need only cast our minds back to last years runways, and remember what a spectacular series of shows were presented at the three-day event. Highlights of the week included a vibrant ’60s rock ‘n’ roll collection from Diesel, a technicolor of Pop Art- inspired prints from Versace and sporty-punch bomber jackets from Calvin Klein.

Meanwhile Burberry opted for a collection of classic tweed with a hint of twee, and Dolce and Gabbana presented their spectacular show of contemporary elegance with a sea of male models who took to the catwalk in a barrage of regal dinner jackets.

Always one who knows how to put on a good show, Miuccia Prada, unveiled a stunning collection of standout sartorial looks for Fall 2012, which, to the surprise of many audience members were modeled by a selection of A-listers like Emile Hirsch, Adrien Brody, and Tim Roth!

So what can we expect from this weeks turn of events? WWD have a sneak peek at some of the designers preliminary sketches for the new season. Expect to see some geometric prints on suits from the likes of Les Hommes, bold signature knits from Missoni, hunter gatherer outerwear from Etro, some classic Italian tailoring from Ermenegildo Zegna, and more.

And naturally we’ll be keeping an eye out for face of Dolce & Gabbana, David Gandy, expect to see an appearance from Anna dello Russo, and wait with baited breath for a sighting of hunky Andrea Preti!
