Ruby Aldridge – Playboy Playmate's Daughter Becomes a Top Model | FashionTV’s Model of the Week
Ruby Aldridge was born in Los Angeles, California in 1991. Her mother was a former Playboy Playmate, so the fashion world, spotlights and sex appeal weren't strange for her. Little Aldridge was discovered at the age of fourteen, and less than a year later she modeled for a DKNY Fall ad campaign.
Though her modeling career started in 2006, Ruby's big breakthrough was only in 2010.
Rocking the Runway
Ruby's first major step on the catwalks was when she opened the Fall 2010 Marc by Marc Jacobs show during New York Fashion Week. During the same week, Aldridge also walked for Marc Jacobs.
The young American model was very successful on the catwalks of London, Milan and Paris. She opened the House of Holland fashion show in London, walked for Gucci, Vivienne Westwood, Dsquared2, Versace and Missoni in Milan, and graced the catwalks of Dior, Kenzo and a few other fashion designers in Paris.
After the successful fashion week season, Ruby Aldrige's career continued to rise. She has collaborated with Valentino, Lanvin, Givenchy, Miu Miu and many other world wide top fashion brands.
Last Fall, Ruby was ranked 7th place on FashionTV’s First Face Countdown. That season she opened 4 major fashion shows, including Valentino. Apart from that she walked for Versace, Prada, Missoni, Alberta Ferretti and Pucci.

Cover Girl
Ruby Aldridge landed her first fashion magazine cover in 2008. Back then, photographer Matthew Frost photographed her for the cover of French Jalouse. In 2011, she was photographed for another magazine cover. This time it was the cover of Harper's Bazaar.
Apart from those two magazine covers, Aldridge posed for many editorials throughout her career. Among others she appeared in fashion magazines such as Interview, Italian Vogue, British Harper's Bazaar, 10, Jalouse and more.
Ad Star
Between 2006 and 2008 Ruby's fashion career was mostly surrounded by ad campaigns. She was photographed for DKNY, Urban Outfitters catalogue, and became one of the faces of Coach.
After she opened Marc by Marc Jacobs show in 2010, Aldridge was chosen to be the face of the brand.
In 2011, Ruby Aldridge was announced as the face of the Calvin Klein fragrance. Fashion photographer Steven Meisel pictured her for this brilliant campaign. During the same year, the American model became the face of Valentino and also modeled for the Calvin Klein Jeans ad campaign.
This year (2012), Ruby was photographed for Roberto Cavalli's Just Cavalli Spring ad campaign. She also signed a contract with Calvin Klein's CK One cosmetics.
