Sexy & Saucy Poppy Delevingne | FashionTV’s Model Of The Week
She’s got aristocratic connections, has been dubbed fashion’s “IT-girl,” and has one VERY famous little sister. Meet FashionTV’s Model of the Week Poppy Delevingne.
Style: Elegant, urban, and likes to flash a bit (or, in Poppy’s case, a lot) of leg!
Fashion Fact: Poppy went to school with fellow British model Alice Dellal
Six years her sister’s junior (yes, Cara), Poppy Delevingne, was born into a family of style, creativity, and wealth. Her mother, Pandora Stevens, was a Seventies socialite; father a property tycoon; and grandmother a lady-in-waiting for Princess Margaret. So it was little wonder that the future would hold bright things for the stunning bombshell.
With her elfin beauty, willowy frame, and standing a steady 5’11” tall, Delevingne quickly stole the hearts and minds of fashion photographers and designers around the world.
She burst onto the fashion scene in 2008, and has notched up campaigns for the likes of Anya Hindmarch, Burberry, Mango, and Louis Vuitton; and most recently featured in Philipp Plein’s Spring 2013 campaign. The campaign, pictured by iconic photographer Terry Richardson, is sexual and provocative as the eye is drawn from Delevigne’s strong pose over to transexual model Lea T and two male models locked in a kiss.
Delevingne has also taken to the catwalk for designers like Julien MacDonald (who will be showing at London Fashion Week tomorrow) and is a longtime friend and muse of Matthew Williamson. But when she’s not on the runway, the British model and socialite is regularly seen frequenting the front row of all the major fashion shows or attending galas with pal Alexa Chung.
In 2011, she was selected by the British Fashion Council to act as a young ambassador for the board, alongside her role as an ambassador for Chanel. But her ambitions have not stopped there. Skys the limit for this 26-year-old.
In 2012, Delevingne decided to pack up her life in London, leave her fiance (temporarily!) and head to Hollywood to try her luck at acting. This is not her first pop at the industry. Back in 2000 the leggy lady landed a small role in short film “Perfect,” as well as playing herself (a model) in satirical comedy “Pirate Radio,” in 2009. Goodluck Poppy!
