If you like window shopping and you are passing by a Macy's store, you probably think the 80's are here again. Super-skinny shorts, black and white prints, shoulders pads and lace are all over the place. No, you are not in the wrong fashion era. You are just watching the new fashion collection launched by Madonna and her 13 years old daughter Lourdes. The "Material Girl" collection got a warm welcome from thousands of young women who wanted to dress like the woman who defines what‘s hot and what's not.

The inspiration for the new collection came from the clothes that Madonna wore in her second album – "Like a Virgin". Among the cool items you can find lots of accessories (most of them are black), leather jackets and vests; very-very short skirts, girdles and more.

The face of the "Material Girl" collection is Gossip Girls' star – Tylor Momsen. Although many believedLourdes should be the "Material Girl" girl, her young age prevented it. After all the collection addresses women in their 20's that wouldn't necessarily feel comfortable wearing items that fit 13 years old girl (no matter how material is she…).

Last time Madonna tried to become a fashion designer was on 2007. The collection she designed for H&M was criticized all over the world and was categorized as a fashion disaster. Unlike 3 years ago, Madonna and Lourdes  are receiving lots of praise for their new line.

When the queen of pop was asked about the co-operation with her daughter she admitted that Lourdes knows about fashion much more then she does. According to Madonna, Lourdes was an integral part of the designing process. The only thing Madonna wanted was to make sure she could back the new line and feel satisfied.

If you’ve ever dreamt of dressing like Madonna, now you have the chance. On the other hand, you can always dig deep-deep into your parent's closet and find the genuine fabrics and designs. Though it will not have the "Material Girl" label, it will prove you once again that 80's are here again!
