Brazilian bombshell Gisele Bundchen tops the annual Forbes magazine highest paid models list. Over the last year Bundchen earned $45 million and remains the most powerful supermodel in the fashion world. Who are the models that share the prestigious list with Gisele? How far are their earnings from hers?

Once a year Forbes magazine publishes a few very interesting lists. One of the most interesting is the world's highest paid models. Those pretty faces are usually the most famous and successful models, and the fact that they get lots of money is not a surprise. Still, the question about the leading model keeps us curious.

Over the last 12 months (May 2011 until May 2012) the world's 10 highest paid models earned approximately 100 million dollars together. Almost half of those earnings went to the world's highest paid model – Gisele Bundchen. The Brazilian super model has earned $45 million last year, and for the second year in a row has been announced as the most powerful model in the fashion industry.

In order to get such a huge amount of money, you have to be more than just a pretty face. Apart from her spokesperson deals, ad campaigns for top brands and appearances on stage, Bundchen also gets a large chunk of change for Ipanema flip-flops and other fashion products bearing her name. The perfect combination between modeling and businesses made Gisele the most successful model of 2012.

Way behind Gisele, top model Kate Moss got the second spot on Forbes's list, with earnings of $9.2 million. The British fashion icon did last year some great fashion collaborations with Mango, Rimmel, Longchamp and Vogue Eyewear. Though she runs a very  long fashion career, Moss manages to remain one of the most popular and wanted models in the fashion industry.

Third place on the Forbes's list belongs to Russian top model Natalia Vodianova, with 8.6 million dollars. This amazing model got 2 fragrance contracts over the last year – one with Calvin Klein Euphoria and another with Guerlain. She also designs a very successful line of lingerie for Etam and shoes for Centro.

Other great models who earned a spot on the annual rank are Adriana Lima, Doutzen Kroes, Alessandra Ambrosio, Heidi Klum and Candice Swanepoel. Will one of them be next year's highest paid model? Well, if Gisele has something to do with it, then the answer is probably no. On the other hand, the fashion world is always full of surprises, so we will have to wait a whole year to find out.
