Top 5 Red Carpet Looks for the Oscars
Before the Oscar frenzy begins in February, believe it or not celebs will be busy behind-the-scenes running to designers’ showrooms to choose their gowns hot off the runway from the Spring 2013 collections!
FashionTV has selected the top 5 looks that we want to see rocking the Academy Awards for 2013.
It may be a little early in the year (we hear you thinking) to be talking about who will be wearing what at the Oscars, but fashion month has JUST finished and if you were an A-Lister wouldn’t you want to have first dibs on the hottest catwalk dresses out there?! Take a look at our top 5 Oscar picks of the season.
1. Elie Saab
The Elie Saab woman walks with affirmity and for Spring 2013 the red carpet maven has given us yet another taste of his uber-glam gowns which were shown at Paris Fashion Week, just a week ago!
The sequined cocktail numbers came in color blockings of raspberry pink, ivory, and midnight blue, some with geometric lace trimmings and all which hugged every inch of the sexy runway models’ bodies. Just take a look at the cropped-sleeve dress on Magdalena Frackowiak, and see what we mean!

2. Zac Posen
Zac Posen knows how to wow a crowd with his tour de force gowns, and this Spring 2013 collection saw a cocktail of 1940s style old-Hollywood dresses hit the runway with fishtail hemlines, fiery hues, and body conscious silhouettes. Naturally, pleating and pin-tucking
made for show-stopping pieces and Coco Rocha appeared last in the show wearing a stunning tiered white ball dress.
We have no doubt a few top celebs will be snapped up in these all-things-glamour gowns within the blink of an eye. We’ve got our hearts set on Penelope Cruz rocking the Oscar’s in Posen’s blood orange silk gown, it’s hot!
3. Marchesa
Designers Georgia Chapman and Keren Craig’s high-wattage gowns this New York Fashion Week took a trip across the continent and were inspired by India in the 1960s. The result, was an array of dreamy pieces -- frilled layers, shiny jeweled tunic tops, and metallic hues -- that dazzled the runway; making for the ultimate red-carpet show stopper!

4. Reem Acra
This season Reem Acra mixed sweet with sexy in a collection inspired by Aaron Young’s iconic motorcycle art. The FashionTV team can totally see the likes of Gwen Stefani or Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas rockin’ one of these daring looks! We’re loving that red figure-hugging dress with sheer panelled sides in embroidered gold -- its oozing sex appeal!

Game of thrones -- er, we mean -- Oscars here we come! And what better way to do it than in Queen Calissi style. We’re talking ultra-structured silhouettes, metal sandals, and dragon motifs from Rodarte this Spring -- which we’re sure is gonna give the Oscars a sci-fi looking red carpet trend! What could be more fabulous? Emilia Clarke, we know you want to!
