Top three bizarre runway collections from Fall 2012
FashionTV brings you a list of three bizarre collections that you may not be wearing, but you sure can’t take your eyes off of.
Each Fashion Week designers showcase their new collections and original visions; Top models strut their stuff in an endless parade of looks and outfits. It is very hard to create a collection that will be remembered once the show is over; which is why bizarre and unusually memorable moments are so precious. Here are three designers whose whacky collections we can’t stop thinking about:
Marc Jacobs
Marc Jacobs is no stranger to “out of this world” looks. The renowned designer did not let us down this season with his slightly bizarre collection. Whether it was knitted, printed, or simply over-sized, the Marc Jacobs F/W 12/13 collection had it. However, the main, and most uncanny, attraction was seen atop each models head; oversized mink hats ruled the Marc Jacobs runway.
The floppy and furry headwear was reminiscent of the Mad Hatter straight out of an “Unbirthday Tea Party.” Mr. Jacobs’ most recent collection has undoubtedly made it into FashionTV’s list of whacky runway looks.
Alexander Wang
The New York based designer is synonymous with urban chicness. However, this F/W Fashion Week, Alexander Wang stepped out of his comfort zone and into a more bizarre abyss. Although the show gained lots of recognition due to super-model Gisele Bundchen modeling the last look consisting of a military-style coat, the Brazilian beauty was far from being the show’s main attraction.
The collection featured stunning models clad in fishnet turtlenecks and very streamlined leather coats, which made them resemble the antagonist in a “slasher film.” This strange look added a new and interesting twist to the designer’s ubiquitous street-style friendly chicness.

Jeremy Scott
If you take 70’s Flower Power motifs, 90’s trends and silhouettes, and Internet era emoticons and themes, then what you get is Jeremy Scott’s F/W 12/13 collection. Sweatshirts with Bart Simpson’s face splashed across them, rainbow fur, sparkling dresses, tops and bottoms with computer screen-shots, and even a swim-suit with a pop-up unicorn across the chest were just a few of the zany looks that went down the Jeremy Scott runway.
Although this isn’t Mr. Scott’s most wearable line, it is definitely one we will never forget!
