Versace To Design For Lady Gaga’s Next Tour
We should’ve guessed, after seeing those pictures of Lady Gaga and Donatella Versace together in Milan last month, that it was only a matter of time before the talented duo joined forces for the ultimate fashion collaboration. So, what music it was to our ears to hear that Versace will be designing the wardrobe for Gaga’s next tour!
It seems we can go few fashion days without hearing Versace collaboration rumors. First up, we were teased with the prospect that singer Lana Del Rey was to be the new face of Versace; as we conjured up images of haute Italian glamour, and Del Rey fitting pretty as a picture in them. Well, that turned out to be wishful dreaming!
While only last week, rapper and fashion savvy artist M.I.A sparked rumours that she too will be working with the Italian fashion house, as news spread that she had three desktop folders on her computer titled "Versace Prints," "Bootleg Versace," and "Versace Outlines;" leaving little to the imagination.
And now, FashionTV favorite and pop sensation Lady Gaga has opened our minds to a plethora of creative visions, after she posted THIS comment on her official Twitter account, suggesting that Versace will be vamping up her US Born This Way Ball tour wardrobe, by designing all the looks!
“THE BORN THIS WAY BALL is getting a face-lift for America. I heard rumors @VERSACE IS CUSTOM DESIGNING ALL THE CLOTHES AND NEW LOOKS,” she tweets.
Perhaps this can explain Gaga’s current obsession with vintage Versace outfits. And the more we think about it... it was an inevitable collaboration! When even back in 2011, the mother monster revealed in an interview that she would only be seen wearing Versace for the next few months.
Never one to shy away from the camera, Gaga’s best Versace moments have seen her wearing the safety-pin black dress that Elizabeth Hurley made famous in 1994, a curve-hugging red gown designed by Donatella’s brother Gianni from his bondage collection, as well as a studded, stretch black Versace leather top from her “The Edge of Glory” video, and a Versace LBD on the cover of the US edition of Harpers Bazaar, amongst many more.
The heart of the Versace brand will always be the hot seduction that the label stood for in the 80s, so who better to channel that sex appeal than our very own dominatrix Lady Gaga.Go backstage at the Versace Spring/Summer 2013 show in Milan
The pop singer is currently deep in the South American leg of her tour and has two more months on the road before she hit’s North America where she will expose her new exclusively-designed Versace looks to the world.
