Vivacious & Vehement Valerija Kelava | FashionTV’s Model Of The Week
From runway royalty to campaign queen, Valerija Kelava is seriously hot property on the fashion scene and continues to reign strong! Meet FashionTV’s Model of the Week, the vivacious and vehement Valerija Kelava.
Known For: Androgynous allure. Dark and deadly gaze. All woman.
In just four favorable years, Valerija Kelava has been taken under the wings of fashion’s finest designers, photographers, and editors: Her dark and deadly gaze drawing their attention, and bountiful beauty adding yet more charm and intrigue to her allure.
She first signed with Next Models in 2009, at the tender age of 18, and was quickly swept into catwalk mayhem. She took her first runway steps at the Christopher Kane Spring 2010 show that very same year and was flown between the major four fashion weeks to feature in seasonal shows for the likes of Rodarte, Prada, Dries Van Noten, Alexander McQueen, and more.
The world’s fashion elite quickly picked-up on the new model talent to burst onto the scene and no later than a few months from her first catwalk steps, had Kelava landed her first campaigns with Celine and Alice by Temperley. This marked the beginning of a wave of high-end fashion campaigns to flurry Kelava’s way -- but, not in the most conventional manner.
With the fashion industry’s ever evolving obsession with androgyny, Kelava’s wafer-thin frame and strong features became the subject of several menswear campaigns starting with Prada Men Fall 2010-11 and Paul Smith the following year. But just as easily as Kelava can make modeling menswear look easy, she can revert to producing ultra-feminine campaigns and ooze lust and glamor for others.
She has been the subject of campaigns for top brands like Balenciaga, Prada, Burberry Blue Label, Diesel Black Gold, Costume National, and Missoni, and most recently landed the Jimmy Choo Spring 2013 photoshoot.
And, so too have Kelava’s catwalk conquests reached pinnacle heights; adding Givenchy Haute Couture, Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Hermes, Yves Saint Laurent, and countless other appearances to her illustrious model resume.
But when the Slovenian stunner isn’t busy gracing the catwalks or campaigns she can be found on the covers or in editorials for international Vogue issues, Twin magazine, W Korea, Pop, V magazine, and more.
What is her key to success we hear you ask? Kelava is a chameleon on a blank canvas and can morph into whatever her visionaries desire. Stay tuned with FashionTV to find out which models made it to our Fall 2013-14 First Face Countdown list, in just a few weeks time!
