Voluminous Updos, Braided Crowns, and Graphic Eyes for Spring
While Brad Pitt is busy sporting dreadlocks for Interview magazine, Christina Aguilera is showing-off her dip-dyed hair, and Natalie Portman goes platinum blonde for her new movie. FashionTV’s got some serious hair-biz to attend to...
Lets take a look at some of the wildest and most wonderful hair and makeup looks adorning the Spring 2013 catwalks this season.
Go Go Gothic Futurism
Designer: Liu Fang
Place: Paris Fashion Week
Hair & Makeup: Sci-Fi-tastic. Voluminous updos. Painted faces.
First up, we take you to the Parisian runway, for Chinese designer Liu Fang’s debut runway show at Paris Fashion Week. The cashmere specialist joined “China in Paris,” in it’s fifth year, to present her “Dynamic Lineation” collection. The models had voluminous hair pinned up in perfected form, while their faces were painted white, with white eyelash extension.
The idea was to contrast the soft fabrics with a gothic futurism hair and makeup look. And giving the models a once over... we couldn’t help but notice those Gaga-esque shoes too! Whether you try this look for a dinner date, exhibition opening, or even a Halloween party... you’ll certainly take oncomers breath away with in striking Fang-fashion!
Paper Crowns & ’50s Glamour
Designer: Impasse de la Defence
Place: Paris Fashion Week
Hair & Makeup: Braided crowns. Side-swept locks.
It was a royal affair backstage at Impasse de la Defence, as entwined hair and montage paper crowns kept things interesting for French-born designer, Karim Bonnet’s Spring 2013 collection.
The collection took inspiration from “La Documenta,” a contemporary art exhibit on display at Kassel in Germany. The ’50s America collage images, weaved into the models braids, were an interesting take on the classic royal twist, that stars like Elle Fanning and Scarlett Johansson love.
Silvery Graphic Eyes
Designer: Issey Miyake
Place: Paris Fashion Week
Hair & Makeup: Dewy eyes. Messy ponytails. Flawless skin.
Bright, cheerful, smiling models hit the catwalk this season for Issey Miyake’s Spring 2013 collection... and we think it’s got something to do with those beautiful metallic colors tickling the models eyes!
Designer Yoshiyuki Miyamae went for bold and beautiful this Spring, choosing Lucia Pieroni and the MAC PRO Team to beautify his models. Mac platinum metal pigments of silvery-white eyeliner were swept above the models eyes. Mixed with a gloss, the models eyes glowed with a watery shine, giving an overall fresh-faced look for next Spring. The models even got a quick spritz of water before taking to the catwalk to make them feel super ethereal!
