John Galliano was born in 1960 in Gibraltar. He moved to London in 1966.
Galliano quickly began to show great talent and maturity which led to his graduation with a First Class Honors Degree in June 1984 from the famous Saint Martin's School of Art.
John Galliano found his signature mark through strong and personal collections. His first signature "Ludic Game" was an instant success. His sense of elegance and his proud tender vision of women made him a very popular designer.
His life took a turn when he moved to Paris in 1991.
After winning over the French press and buyers esteem with his own collections (princess Lucretia which was inspired from Princess Lucretia's escape from Russia S/S 1994 or A/W 1994 inspirited from Kiki de Montparnasse), he became the designer for Givenchy Ready to Wear and Haute Couture collections from July 1995 until January 1997. There he captured the spirit of Givenchy.
Meanwhile, John Galliano continued developing his own image. The John Galliano brand became stronger and stronger and his inspiration became more and more eclectic.
In January 1997, John Galliano became the new designer for Christian Dior - bringing his modern and glamorous perception of women to the famous Christian Dior Institution.
From time to time on, he has worked with the same energy and intensity on both John Galliano and Christian Dior collections.
