Overview

Helmut Lang never received a formal fashion education, yet he is living proof that natural talent can triumph over years of studying. At the age of 23, Lang opened his first boutique store in Vienna, which became very popular amongst the Austrian elite fashion crowd. In 1986, he was offered the chance to present some of his works in Paris, which raised his profile to an international crowd. Lang's pinnacle successes came in the late-’80s and early-’90s. At that time, his use of high-tech fabrics and super-elegant silhouettes became hot trends that Lang knew how to translate through his magnificent designs. In 2005, Lang quit the fashion business but his brand is still active and can be found in various retail stores around the world.
