Overview

With a career spanning over 30 years, Manolo Blahnik has become one of the world’s most influential footwear designers. And much of his successes can be credited to 1960s Vogue editor-in-chief, Diana Vreeland. Upon showing his set design sketches to Vreeland, she quickly homed in on the young designers talent for shoes and persuaded him to change direction from set design to shoe design! And happy the women of the world are too, as “Manolo’s” stand today as the pinnacles of womens footwear. Blahnik opened his first boutique in 1972, and laid emphasis on designing unique and luxurious stiletto heel shoes. Rapidly, Manolo's designs became synonymous with pure and classic style, which has been the key to keeping the brand at the top of the market for decades.
