Overview
Marni was established in 1994, by Gianni Castiglioni and his svelte designer wife Consuelo, who built a reputation for her contributions to fur designs. While other designers were very tradition with their use of fur, Consuelo treated it just like any other fabric and dared to create some modern designs. To begin, Consuelo’s collections included mostly vintage-inspired pieces, but with maturity, the Marni brand became more simple and streamlined in its designs. In general, women find the Marni designs more practical and wearable, while men consider Marni clothes as not at all sexy.
