Overview

In 1995, after few years of self-teaching, Raf Simons became an official menswear designer. He worked with Walter van Beirendonck, and was exposed to the designs of great fashion minds as Jean Paul Gaultier and Martin Margiela. In 2005, Simons was appointed as creative director at Jil Sander and seven years later, after many rumors circulated, it was officially announced that the talented Belgian designer would become creative director at French luxury fashion house Christian Dior. Simons presented his first collection for the Christian Dior in July 2012. It was critically acclaimed as one of the best couture shows Dior has presented in years.
