Overview

After a short period of working for a tie company, Ralph Lifschitz decided to go into business by himself, in 1967. He changed his name to 'Lauren' and promoted his exclusive tie collection under the 'Polo' label. In 1968, Ralph launched his first menswear collection which was followed by womenswear, in 1971. Ralph Lauren's classic tailoring, fine taste, and English-preppy meets classic-American clothing has earned him a reputation for redefining American style. Along with his signature polo player motif; Ralph Lauren represents the essence of classic fashion.
