Sarah Burton worked for Alexander McQueen for many years, starting as an intern in 1996 and later returned to work as head of womenswear, in 2000. No one truly could know the house better than her, working side-by-side with ‘Lee,’ until his death in 2010. She stepped into the shoes of one of the world’s most celebrated fashion mavens, and unveiled her first collection for Alexander McQueen in Fall 2010/11, which was received as a critical hit. Burton has since created the wedding dress worn by the Duchess of Cambridge and been honored with an OBE. And still Alexander McQueen creative director, Sarah Burton, continues to garner critical acclaim for her collections.
