This young Austrian was born on July 21, 1984 in Saltsburg Austria. In 2001 she moved to New-York City as an exchange student and was discovered walking down the street while working as an au-pair. In 2002 she walks for Calvin Klein spring show in N.Y and becomes the face for Armani, she appeared in fashion editorials for i-D & The Face. In 2003 Iris quits modeling.
In 2007 Iris has a change of heart and signs with Supreme Management to return vigorously on to the runway, opening the Dries van
Noten spring show in Paris. She was noticed by world renowned photographer Steven Meisel and has since shot covers, ad campaigns & editorials with Meisel amongst some of the biggest names in the industry. Iris has walked for the likes of Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Lanvin, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, YSL, Dries van Noten to name a few. She is currently one of the Balenciaga faces. In the winter 2009 shows she opened for Sonia Rykiel, Rick Owens, Proenza Shouler, Francesco Scognamiglio and Gaetano Navarra.
Iris was tutored by Yannis Nikolaou and Jan-Eric Luetjen teaching her posing and strutting on the runways; as for her runway walk, Iris says she learned how to walk backstage at her first show and after plenty of practice it finally worked; she says she always tries to be herself and to be thankful for everything and enjoy every experience she can make during her flourishing career.
Iris was ranked number 6 on FTV's Fall/Winter '09-'10 First Face countdown, opening for Sonia Rykiel, Rick Owens & Proenza Shouler. This season, Iris is again in lucky number 6 and opening for some of the biggest brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Lanvin, Marc Jacobs & Oscar de la Renta.
