Gandy persevered until the industry changed it’s archetypal image of the male model. It was 2006, that marked Gandy’s breakthrough moment, when he was signed as the favorite new face of Dolce and Gabbana.
This would mark the beginning of many more major campaigns to come, including contracts with Massimo Dutti, Banana Republic, Martini, and nearly 20 Dolce & Gabbana campaigns as well as coffee-table must-have, the “David Gandy by Dolce & Gabbana Book.”
More model moments include Gandy featuring in editorials of Russian GQ, V Magazine, i-D Magazine, L'Officiel Hommes, Elle Men, and others.
But when Gandy isn’t posing in front of the lense, he has become quite the style maverick, a go-to adviser, and businessman. In 2010, he launched his very own iphone app, the David Gandy Style Guide, which features pictures of his style inspirations, such as Steve McQueen; Jude Law, and Tom Ford.
