Gemma Ward made her debut catwalk appearance at the Spring 2004 Prada fashion show in Milan. A short while later, she walked at the Valentino couture show in Paris. She also walked for Karl Lagerfeld and Céline in late-2000, but for most of her career, Ward featured more heavily in advertising campaigns. In 2009, the Australian model announced that she is quitting modelling.
Ad Star: In 2004, Ward landed her first major campaign for Jil Sander. The following year, she featured in campaigns for Hermes, Valentino, and was chosen as the face of Burberry, and Calvin Klein's fragrance, “Obsession.” In 2007, she worked as the new face of Louis Vuitton accessories, Christian Dior, and Valentino. In 2008, Dolce & Gabbana chose Ward to represent the brand, and the same year she was also photographed by Patrick Demarchelier for the Pirelli Calendar.
Apart from her career as a top model, Ward has played a part in several motion pictures, including “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” (2011) and “The Strangers” part I and II (2008, 2012).
