Rocking the Runway
Christensen arrived to Paris in 1991 and immediately was hired by top designer Karl Lagerfeld and fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh. In 1996, she took presence at the Victoria's Secret annual show, and soon became a well known Angel. During her career, Christensen has collaborated with top designers such Marc Jacobs, Emanuel Ungaro, Christian Dior and many others. She walked during both on pret-a-porter and haute couture fashion shows.
Apart from modeling, Christensen has launched a few own-designed lines. In 2007, her haircare line was launched under the name Model.Me. In 2008, she also launched her jewelry line for Pilgrin.
In addition to her modeling career and designing aspirations, Helena Christensen appeared in a few music videos. In 1991, she appeared topless in the music video for Chris Isaak's “Wicked Game”, and in 2002 Christensen appeared in the music video for the Dirty Vegas song “Simple Things”.
Ad Star
Helena Christensen did very well in terms of advertising contracts and campaigns. In 1994, she was photographed for CoverGirl printed ads. Three years later, she graced on printed ads for Ralph Lauren. Over the 1990s Christensen was photographed for brands like Revlon, Prada, Hermes, Versace (Gianni Versace once described her as having “the most beautiful body in the world”), Lanvin, Valentino, Chanel, Dom Perignon and more. In 2002 she was photographed for a Montblanc printed ad campaign.
Off the Runways
Helena Christensen likes to collect antiques and she is also an extremely busy interior designer. Apart from that, she enjoys raising her only child and likes to spend quality time with him whenever she can.
