Not long after Alida was signed to Ford, did she walk for Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler during the Fall 2011/12 fashion shows in New York. She debuted however in 2010, walking at the Spring Maison Martin Margiela show in Paris, as well as taking to the runway for Céline and Miu Miu. Her beatnik look has since captured the hearts of many top designers, with Vera Wang, Christopher Kane, Moschino, Kenzo, Vivienne Westwood, Louis Vuitton and many more to add to her list of high profile catwalk shows at New York, London, Milan, and Paris fashion weeks.
Alida has appeared alongside Daria Strokus for the Alberta Ferretti Spring 2012 campaign. Editorial features include Alida’s appearance in the Spring 2011 issue of AnOther Magazine, photographed by Paolo Roversi; The New York Times T Style magazine editorial, as well as being captured for Turkish Vogue by photographer Phil Poynter. Meanwhile, 2012 saw Alida’s first cover, for which she appeared on the pre-Fall issue of i-D magazine. The chic Canadian has also featured in British Vogue editorial “boy TALK,” after the model’s dramatic boy-cut hairstyle, which has transformed Alida into an even more striking version of her former-self.
Alida was an athletic child, committed to high school and an avid volleyball player. With her recent runway successes in 2012, it is merely a matter of time before the Canadian belle is snapped-up to work on other projects and collaborations. But in the meantime, we’ll leave you dreaming about the next cover that Alida’s exquisite features will be gracing.
