Rocking the Runway
Fall 2007 was Jourdan Dunn’s debut season. She walked for Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren and Salvatore Ferragamo in New York and in Milan. Later that year, Dunn took part in fashion shows for Alexander McQueen and Hermes.
Her popularity rose in 2008, when she became the first black model to walk for Prada in 13 years. The previous black model that walked for the Italian brand was supermodel Naomi Campbell. After that, Dunn became a runway fixture at countless fashion shows, including Vivienne Westwood, Givenchy, Gaultier, Dior, Victoria’s Secret, Giambattista Valli, Oscar de la Renta, Ives Saint Laurent, Pucci and others.
Cover Girl
Top designers, photographers and magazine editors have all pined for Dunn at one point or another. She appeared on the covers of Europe’s best fashion magazines, as well as those in the USA and the Far East. In 2009, Steven Meisel shot Dunn for the cover of Vogue, and shortly after, her shoot with Patrick Demarchelier landed her cover of Teen Vogue. Dunn also was featured on the covers of Elle, i-D, W, Dazed & Confused, and more big titles.
Fashion Forward
While Jourdan Dunn decided to skip the Fall 2013 fashion week season, we believe she is not finished with the runways yet. The subject of mild controversy at the beginning of her career, Dunn has become one of the industry’s most natural beauties.
Her perfect figure and magnificent smile have definitely earned her a place as one of the most popular and respected models in the fashion industry.
