Top designer Miuccia Prada was the first well-known designer who noticed Kurkova, and actually brought her in to the fashion world. During the Fall 2000 fashion week season, Kurkova walked for brands like Vera Wang, Louis Vuitton, Valentino and Miu Miu. The following year she landed on her first couture runway, opening the luxurious Ungaro fashion show.
Karolina Kurkova is most known for being a former Victoria's Secret Angel. At the 2002 VS's annual show, the Czech model wore the “Star of Victoria” - a Fantasy bra worth almost 10 million dollars. In 2006, she walked the annual show presenting the “Hearts On Fire” - Fantasy bra decked with almost 2000 diamonds weighing 800 carats, worth approximately 6.5 million dollars.
In addition to those achievements, Kurkova walked on the catwalks of Dolce & Gabbana, Karl Lagerfeld, Dior, Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney and many others.
At the beginning of Kurkova's modeling career printed advertisements assisted in exposing and introducing her to the entire world, and especially to other top designers and brands. Her first ad contracts were signed with Valentino, John Galliano, H&M, Versace, Hugo Boss, Chanel, Dior and Louis Vuitton. As her career developed, Kurkova continued to be one of the most wanted models for ad campaigns. Top photographer, Mario Testino, once said of Kurkova: “The proportions of her body and her face, as well as her energy level, make her a model who could fit almost into any moment”.
Karolina Kurkova enjoys watching basketball and finds lot of interest in Buddhism. Other than that she enjoys spending her free time with her young child.
