Raquel Zimmermann's debut on stage was in 1999 at the Spring Chanel and Valentino fashion shows. Along her career, the Brazilian beauty has collaborated with the world's top designers, including Lagerfeld, Gucci, Fendi, Viktor & Rolf, Dolce & Gabbana, Alexander McQueen, Alessandro Dell'Acqua and many others.
Victoria's Secret also saw potential in Zimmermann. The model took part in the lingerie annual show in 2002, 2005 and also in 2006. At those shows, she successfully walked on the catwalks, smiled to the cameras and embraced her beauty as if she was on the top of the world.
Raquel Zimmermann ran a very successful modelling career, yet it seemed like she enjoyed working for printed media rather than participating in live fashion shows. At the beginning of her career, Zimmermann signed a cosmetics contract with Dior (2001), posed for Steven Meisel during an Escada campaign (2004), photographed for a Gucci campaign and became the face of Hermes (2005).
2006 was a turning point for the model. Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott photographed her for a Louis Vuitton ad campaign. She became the face of MaxMara, H&M, Viktor & Rolf and the face of Escada. In addition she posed for Steven Meisel during a campaign for Dolce & Gabbana.
Zimmermann kept on receiving offers for lots of fashion campaigns. In 2007, Karl Lagerfeld himself photographed her for Chanel eyewear. Apart from that she did a campaign for Chloe', Fendi, Dsquared2, and was photographed for many fashion magazine editorials and covers. Following that, Zimmermann signed fragrance contracts with top brands Gucci and Fendi.
Years later, the Brazilian model worked with Viktor & Rolf, Chloe, Oscar de la Renta, Marc Jacobs, Armani, Gucci and H&M, which are just few of the collaborations Zimmermann accomplished. No wonder she is known as one of the most popular and familiar top models of her time.
Apart from being a Brazilian icon, Raquel Zimmermann likes listening to music and playing the guitar. When she was asked what will she do when her modeling days will be over, she said – “I would like to work in a very creative field”.
