Suvi Koponen made her runway debut on the Neil Barrett show during the Fall 2006/07 Fashion Week season. Her real big breakthrough came only in the following season, when she walked exclusively for Prada and Miu Miu.
In the beginning of 2007, Koponen took part in numerous fashion shows, including Marc by Marc Jacobs, Jill Stuart, Anna Sui, Chanel, Hermes, Marni, Nina Ricci and others. Her modelling career sky rocketed and Suvi Koponen quickly became one of the hottest names in the industry.
From 2008 – 2010 Koponen experienced wonderful years in terms of runway fashion shows. She collaborated with top designers and brands such as Dior, Givenchy, Versace, Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent and many more.
Koponen had a great modelling career also in terms of photoshoots and ad campaigns. Her first campaign was for Anteprime Company, but after her huge breakthrough, more familiar and desirable offers landed on her table.
In 2007, Koponen replaced Natalia Vodianova and became the new face of the Calvin Klein Collection. In addition she posed for Steven Meisel in a photoshoot for Mulberry Fall ad campaign, and was photographed for Blumarine’s Spring campaign. In 2008, the Finnish model was chosen once more to be the face of Calvin Klein.
Koponen’s next ad campaign was only in 2009, when Terry Tsiolis photographed her for Emporio Armani’s Fall ad campaign.
Suvi Koponen likes to spend her free time with friends (not necessarily from the fashion industry)as well as doing lots of shopping, listening to music and playing sports.
