Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer 2013 Runway Show | London Fashion Week LFW

LONDON - Capes, corsets, and colors were the themes behind the Burberry Prorsum Spring 2013 show during London Fashion Week. It seemed like designer Christopher Bailey was taking his signature trench and heritage style and making it that much more elaborate, with coats coming in brighter colors and, corsets in satin and sheen. More British glamour came through in a unique sense, capelets on corsets and architecture that landed on the shoulders instead of at the hips, like the peplums we've seen in the past (though they had those too.) There were also shorts, the famous pencil skirts with pleats, and a lot of technicolor. Which is interesting considering that while Burberry has a vast British heritage, it's also going for futurism--with its prowess in the digital sense (anybody watch the livestream or catch the behind-the-scenes photos??) and now its clothing.
