NEW YORK - Diane von Furstenberg and her creative director Yvan Mispelaere called their Spring 2013 collection "Palazzo." This year, thankfully, the debut of the line at New York Fashion Week delightfully did not fall on September 11. Nevertheless, it was just as colorful, confident, and optimistic as last year's happy-go-lucky line.
A sense of free spirit was also to be found here, as many of the looks matched loose silhouettes with tapered pants and flowed into color blocked caftans. Even better, von Furstenberg teamed up with Google to make a film about their new Glass technology and had some of her models walk down the runway in the new Google glasses. She also wore them in the finale when she took her bow and invited Google co-founder Sergey Brin up to the stage. He got up from his spot next to fashionista extraordinaire Sarah Jessica Parker to share in the moment.
