It's Like A New Beginning: Antoni & Alison Take It All Away at London Fashion Week F/W12

LONDON - FashionTV is backstage at the Antoni & Alison show during London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2012-2013. Models Alexia Palmer and Anastasia Portnaya say hello to FashionTV during hair and makeup at the show on the first day of Fashion Week. Makeup Artist Liz Pugh says the girls are getting a very natural matte basis on their skin. "The dresses are all very little shift dresses, so I wanted to keep it really modern with an almost winged eye but without any eyeliner." She used Eyeko fat pencils to wing it into a shape and two different kinds of Eyeko mascaras. "It's almost like a modern Audrey Hepburn," she says of creating the look of false lashes without actual false lashes. The models are wearing cropped black wigs cut into a sort of bowl hairdo. The looks are also very retro and colorful.
Antoni & Alison have had three seasons off and this is their comeback season. "It's very raw, it's very simple and we kind of just wanted to take everything away, so it's actually just models walking up and down the runway in dresses," Antoni explains. "We've got rid of everything, there's no accessories, there's no hair...It's like a new beginning."
