NEW YORK - Was there something in the water at New York Fashion Week? Or is it merely that it's time for Spring 2013 where bold colors and graphics loom? Designers known for their ladylike creations -- Peter Som, Carolina Herrera, and Oscar de la Renta to be exact --- have decided to forgo the elegant in favor of pops of color for a little bit of edge. In the case of Oscar de la Renta, the designer who's known for his boucle skirt suits for the ladies who lunch, added that oomph with pieces of color in the hair, evening shorts (not the typical Oscar), that loud fringed hot pink tutu dress worn by Cara Delevingne, latex, and graphic black and white curly cue designs on party dresses and pencil skirts and sheer black lace tops. But then he went back down to the Oscar we know best--providing those gorgeous evening gowns that are sure to see their turn on the red carpet. We can't figure out which Oscar de la Renta we like better--but we're liking that we get both.
